What does a balance sheet reveal?
Fundamental analysis,
valuation skills, and a little bit of intuition are needed
to successfully assess a company's potential. Mr. Patten has
a unique skill-set not often found in private equity
managers. As a Portfolio Manager, and member of the Cutler
Investment Group Investment Committee, Mr. Patten is
responsible for the investments of discretionary assets of
$150,000,000 in public market securities. These fundamental
skills have led to portfolio performance which has generated
above benchmark returns in the past 1, 2, and 3 year periods
(Performance vs. the S&P 500 as of July 30, 2006). This
assignment helps to maintain a focus on macroeconomic trends
in the world markets. Additionally, he serves as the
President of a Mutual Fund, and serves as its principal
investment manager.
