Ellery Barney

Mrs. Barney earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion and Behavior from Oregon State University.

Mrs. Barney is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst with over a decade of experience in the financial industry.

My interest in finances began at a young age when my mother took me down to the local bank and helped me establish my own account. On a consistent basis, we would sit down together and balance my checkbook, setting goals and highlighting what I could buy if I prioritized wisely. I started picking up extra chores around the house, as well as the homes of my relatives, until I got my first job stocking the medicine isle at our small town market where I was paid “under the table” until I reached legal hire age.

With a passion of promoting the personal and financial wellbeing of others, I established my career in financial services as an Advisor Consultant for Franklin Templeton Investments in the Bay Area where I focused on market analysis and product construction. I had a fantastic boss and mentor who helped me hone in on my skillset and dive deeper into the world of investing. Before long, I knew I wanted to work directly with families and individuals and so I moved back to Southern Oregon to start a career as a financial advisor.

Soon after my move, I was fortunate enough to meet my now husband, Erick, and his two children. As Jacksonville residents, we enjoy taking part in all the local activities and spend as much time being outdoors as possible, whether it’s summers at Fish Lake or winters on Mt. Ashland. In the wee hours of the day, you can usually spot me with my golden retriever, Winnie Cooper, running the streets and trails in Jacksonville.
